Nice stay, some issues

Pros: Friendly staff, good breakfast, and clean, well-functioning facilities. The pool area was also pleasant and well maintained. Direct indoor access to a shopping mall with a well-stocked Carrefour. Spacious room and a good coffee machine.

Cons: At check-in I was asked to pay an extra charge for my child’s breakfast, even though our reservation (one adult and one child) clearly included breakfast for two. My child was charged the same room rate as an adult, so it was confusing to be told that breakfast would not be included simply because the guest was a child. The issue was only resolved after I showed the Booking.com confirmation. We had already requested in advance a room close to our friends (who were staying under a separate reservation), and we raised this again at reception during check-in, noting that being on the same floor would be perfectly sufficient, but this was not accommodated; given the size of the hotel, it seemed reasonable to expect rooms at least on the same floor, yet they ended up six floors apart. I was particularly disappointed as it gave the impression that no real effort had been made to accommodate this request. In our room on the 32nd floor, noise from the nearby construction site and the metro line running next to the hotel was audible. I understand these factors are not under the hotel’s control, but advance information would have allowed us to request a room on the opposite side of the building, where at least the construction noise might have been less noticeable. The pool area was often very crowded with limited sunbeds available, and service at the pool restaurant was slow, yet very friendly. Overall, our stay was still good and these issues did not ruin the experience. However, considering this is a five-star hotel, certain aspects were somewhat disappointing and did not fully match the expected standard.

Pros: Beautiful hotel. Staff polite, helpful, nothing too much trouble and breakfast divine. Pool area lovely and clean and nice background music. Would definitely recommend

Great place to stay

Pros: Great place to stop on our flight to and from Australia giving us a nice break from the long haul flight. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very polite and helpful. Will definitely use this hotel again.

Pros: Excellent experience. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and treated us as their personal guests; by the end of our stay, it felt as though we were part of the family.

Great hotel, with a good value for money.

Pros: The value for money is really good. Rooms are spacious, clean and look new. We had a check in at midnight, but there was enough staff, very helpful and made it a smooth exercise. Breakfast was also very good. A lot of choice and a lot freshly made on the spot.

Cons: Nothing for us. For others you can debate if the location is the best location in Dubai. But, with the infrastructure that Dubai has and also the amounts of taxies at the hotel, you will be at all the spots fairly quick.

Pros: It was truly a wonderful stay. All the staff provided excellent service, especially the team at the lounge who were exceptionally attentive and welcoming. This was my second stay at Sofitel, and I’m pleased to say that the high standards have remained consistently impressive. I will definitely be returning again on my next visit.

Pros: Very good hotel, the room is very big and comfortable, good and tasty breakfast, very nice staff, luxurious, everything was perfect!
